"The Te of Pacey"

At first, Joey's excited to be planning a surprise party for Pacey with his family, but she quickly regrets her decision when Pacey's family treat Pacey with their usual disdain. Her unease is compounded when she begins to sense Pacey's upset about something else, but he won't tell her what it is. When she and Pacey catch Dawson and Gretchen kissing in the basement, it's the icing on the birthday cake. While the family pokes fun at Pacey, he fumes and finally admits that he learned that he didn't get into his safety school - and he's pretty sure he's not going to be going to college. He takes off, and Joey accepts a ride from Dawson to follow him. Joey tries to keep her confused emotions about seeing Dawson kiss Gretchen in check, as they search in vain for Pacey. Finally at home, Joey and the group give Pacey a real, genuine surprise party, and Joey promises him that she won't love him any less if he doesn't go to college.

As Gale's delivery date approaches, the girls throw a baby shower for her...but it's an experience that throws Joey for a loop when she realizes it's possible that she could be pregnant, and Pacey is nowhere to be found. While Dawson awaits the arrival of his new sibling, Dawson and Gretchen wonder what their future holds when Gretchen considers an out-of-town job... Meanwhile, Jack faces an unexpected situation when he learns that Tobey falls victim to a vicious crime.
