Relaxation days are upon us as the kids have to go to school tomorrow, they all had homework to finish off so Butters and I slept in so as not to annoy them and let them finish, For lunch we all went to a place called the Fox 'n' the Hound which was a pool/bar type place, I re-learnt the American rules of playing and Emma and Mark were happy to play the 2 shot we play as that was how they used to play pool back in Sri Lanka and South Africa. After lunch we went to a CD Warehouse store which we all bought really cheap CD's at, to my surprise however, DVD's are more expensive here than they are back home, The Matrix is A$32 where as US$24, thru conversion it's not cheaper. We had to buy modem line and a connector as I was to setup Janet's computer when we got back to the house, it all works now except for the CD-ROM as it has died and I can't bring it back to life.
Today was first day of school after Winter break so Butters and I were left to fend for ourselves basically. We went to a store called Old Navy where we bought cheap but very good clothing and then went Downtown. I now wonder y I wanted to go down town as it was very cold and windy and not easy to navigate around. Came home cold and frozen to a Mexican dinner.
Went out to Aurora Factory Outlets, this is where we definitely got new attire to wear, it was awesome and got 2 pairs of Levis Khakis trousers for US$55, conversion of that was at least 2 for 1 price back home, we went into a lot of other stores as well and even a BOSE stereo store. I also purchased my new running shoes here from the Adidas store US$36 marked down from $89. From here we went to pick up James from School and then quickly over to Beechworth Place Mall where Butters spent 1 1/2 hours deciding on just 2 t-shirts to buy. we had to pick up Mark from his school activity after this which was rock Climbing but had to have a go ourselves as well so Butter's and I re-taught ourselves and I got rope burn from him as he was supposed to be belaying me and forgot to put the break on when I fell off the wall. I caught myself but man it stings still. Dinner was spent with Emma as she took us out to Little Italy which used to be the Mafia headquarters of USA. the restaurant was very nice and there was lots of laughs as we all embarrassed ourselves by making stupid statements to the waiter.
Today was 1 thing SNOWBOARDING AGAIN! Butter's and I wanted to go again although the snow had disappeared and wasn't quite thick enough but they had been making snow for 2 days straight so they could keep it running. We were there for 4 hours and have become quite good at it, however butters is now suffering a slight case of whiplash after head butting the snow quite hard and suffering a nose bleed from it, OUCH!
Our last day in Cleveland. Today Emma and us went to the Cleveland art gallery and wandered around observing the fine art collection ranging from Picasso and Monet to more contempory and newer forms of sculpture and art. My favorite piece was a new piece of art work that was a creationistic piece of a New York setting. We proceeded after that a small shopping area, not too much unlike Armadale, Victoria but a hell of a lot cheaper. We went to a coffee shop to mainly get out of the icy cold wind and then went down the street looking in at a CD shop like the CD Warehouse shop we had been to previously, and a gift from Cleveland shop, sorry no gifts in there for anyone except me :) We returned home only to realise we hadn't been to Best Buys ( a huge electrical store) to purchase a simple CD player for me so I don't get bored on the long train trips and flights and secondly to see if we could get a new CD-ROM for the old computer that Janet got me to set back up for her. Unfortunately couldn't get her the CD-ROM but have been told that one could be found through Andrew's work where Emma, James and Mark's computers are from. Butters and I both stayed awake all the night waiting for our departure time watching TV for once, before that however we said our sad farewells to my dear R-C family and I look forward to the time when any of them arrive in Australia. I just hope I have a room for them to stay in.
